During my Ph.D. project, a novel vector-signal analyzer receiver would be built up and optimized for real-time signal analysis and detection of the next generation Differential Quadrature Phase Amplitude Shift Keying (DQPASK) modulated signal.

The interest in the multilevel phase-encoded optical signals is relatively new. The ultra long haul transmission with such signal could increase the spectral utilization and this would translate to multiplying the transmission distance.
